EDIT: SO my scanner really butchered this image when I originally submitted it. The colors were too red, and because my scanner is really small, I ended up having to stitch a bunch of images together, which consequently stretched it. In the end, I really didn't like the quality so I've gone back and just taken a photo of it! I think this one is a tiny bit smaller than the original, but I can't be bothered at this point

Pretty please full-screen

I also just posted a close up with a focus on the face. Please check it out! : [link]

I don't even want to talk about how long this took....

Materials:
-black micron pens
-acrylic paint
-glitter
-acrylic gloss

What can I say, I'm kind of a sucker for beautiful boys...

I'll try to get a better quality image up later. My scanner wasn't quite big enough to do it in one go, so this is kind of collage of multiple different scans.

Here's a copy of the reference photograph! [link]

Beautiful work! I love the technique you used. Nice colours in the background, they go well together and you can still see the portrait clearly. Is there a message in the background? I'm not too sure but I think I can see letters... :hmm:

Thank you so much! There aren't really specific words in the background, I did a lot of geometric shapes with duct tape on some of the paint drips, which kind of looks like words if that's what you mean. It's kind of abstratcy, open to interpretation : )

I like this, it's very unique! At least I haven't seen something like this before. I really like the colors and I like how you've striped the face of the character aswell, but not too much (her eyes are still in perfect focus for example)

Thanks so much! I really love how it came out, for a while I wasn't sure that I could combine the acrylic paint and the pointillism , but I'm super happy with the results.

I have to admit, I quite liked the close up better, but I still like this one quite a lot. Even when looking at the big picture, the face jumps off from under the colors, and you've done well making sure the eyes come out really strong from within the colors. That's difficult to do for a picture this colorful, but that's still one of the things I like about this. And the colors you use really compliment it in many ways. Still, a very well painted work of art! :)
