oh hey friends,
so a little over a month ago I had a small outburst of posts here on DA, and I cannot tell you how happy I was to settle back into this community! it was so so amazing to get so much feedback on my current drawing style, and I'm pleased to say that I have many many more drawings that I will be posting in the coming week.
that being said, I apologize for the sudden 6 week hiatus! those of you who know me in real life - or follow me outside of DA - know that I actually work in the environmental chemistry field and that I love getting my hands dirty and spending time out in the field collecting samples. I had this incredible opportunity this summer to spend 6 weeks in the arctic circle to study climate change and how the arctic tundra landscape has been changing in response to warmer temperatures up north. it was honestly a dream come true (and if you're interested in learning more about my adventures, I blogged sporadically throughout my time there: environmentalbrigade.wordpress…), although, being in the middle of nowhere alaska did mean that I was 300 miles away from cell service and battled patchy internet for the majority of my time there. hence, I slacked pretty hard on keeping my account here up to date.
my goal for the rest of the month is to finish uploading all of my drawings from 2015 and start moving on to my more recent creations, and I would absolutely love to hear what you think! xo

Hi friends,
It's been eons since I've updated on here, but I'm back (for real!).
I just graduated, and so now I'm a full fledged biogeochemist living in Philadelphia. But art is still such a huge part of my life and I've been keeping a sketchbook for the past year. I'll be updating my gallery to reflect the my new work (so please excuse the backlog of drawing from 2015), but hopefully it won't take too long to get caught up.
I'm also taking suggestions/commissions/art trades/collaboration/etc. etc., so please message me if you're interested! Here's a few samples of my more recent work for reference:

Hi everyone,
I promise I'm still around and kicking. Apparently being a chemistry major and trying to keep up with art doesn't mix will. On the bright side, my semester officially ends next week and I should be able to finish the projects I've been working on and be more active here. Hello beautifuls, it's definitely been a while.
Thanks for staying with me on my borderline hiatus this summer, I know I was pretty inactive, but life got pretty crazy. I've definitely been having a lot more artist block problems that I have in the past, which is unbelievably frustrating. Especially with the collaboration that I've been working on with 
, which had basically been at standstill since early July. In fact, the portrait I just finished and posted of Jake Jones ( f1utterby3.deviantart.com/art/… ) was a product of my procrastination on every other project that I'm supposed to be working on. I'm very very happy with the way it turned out, but I know that I still need to wrap up my other projects as well.

On a brighter note, I've been experimenting with my collaboration piece and tonight I think I figured out what direction I want it to go, which you can check out here: www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbi… . I tried to approach this piece by assuming that I would make my drawing and completely overlay it with 's gorgeous painting, but I think that this new take has a lot more integration, which I think is my goal. Anyways, I should have it done in the next week if everything goes as planned.

Some of them might also make an appearance on here, but I haven't decided yet.
I really hope to get back in the flow of creating art again and getting in touch with my inner creativity, so hopefully this year will be a little more successful as the fall and winter approaches.
